October 17 & 18, 2008

The University of California system is home to a large family of high-quality econometricians. The `All-UC’ Econometrics Mini-Conference, hosted by the Berkeley Econometrics Group, will provide an opportunity for researchers from different campuses to present their ongoing research to one another. We hope that this initial gathering will be the first of many regular meetings of the University of California econometrics community.

We expect to gather together between 20 and 25 “UC” econometricians for a two day conference in Berkeley. In addition to providing high quality feedback on ongoing research we expect that this gathering will lead to new collaborative projects involving multiple researchers across campuses. We are exploring the possibility of publishing selected papers presented at the conference in a special issue of the Journal of Econometrics.

The Berkeley Econometrics Group, with partial support from the University of California’s Office of Research, will pay for attendees’ hotel accommodation and conference meals. Attendee’s will be responsible for their travel expenses. We expect that most attendees will be able to fund their travel through their home campus’ inter-campus travel grant program. Attendee’s should plan to be in Berkeley by midday on Friday, October 17th and return to their homes the evening of Saturday, October 18th.

If you have a paper you would like to present please e-mail a title and short abstract to Bryan Graham ( ) and Jim Powell ( ).
